With an increase in the desire of people who wish to live by the sea as evidenced by recent TV programs such as Homes by the Sea and natural styles for the home that bring the outside inside and make the home feel light and airy there has been an increase in demand for the coastal or nautical themes and styles.
This used to be seen in cushions with pictures of anchors or lighthouses but is much more sophisticated and nuanced, decor with patterns and colours used to evoke that sense of calm and relaxing that accompanies living by the sea or beach.
